




German luxury car maker , Bayerische Motoren Werke better known as BMW globally, announced the official launch of its BMW 1 Series in China, the world's fastest growing economy.
The BMW1 series which was unveiled at Auto China 2008 in April this year, will be available in three five-door variants of the rear-wheel drive hatchback in China.The models available are the BMW 120i MT, 120i AT and 130i AT, priced between 273,000 yuan and 445,000 yuan, BMW said in a statement.
BMW sold about 14,000 vehicles in China in the first quarter of this year, up 43.2 per cent compared to the previous year. The company targets a double-digital growth rate in China in 2008.
The company has manufacturing facilities in Northeast China's Shenyang city, in Northeast China's Shenyang city, which produces BMW 3 Series and 5 Series.
